The Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP) organized a gathering for NPAPs in Asian countries to exchange experiences and lessons learned for supporting the emerging NPAPs in Laos PDR, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The Secretariat Manager shared the journey of the Viet Nam NPAP and highlighted the importance of government ownership in actively convening multiple stakeholders and mobilizing collective resources for joint actions against plastic pollution in Viet Nam. Viet Nam, Indonesia, and Ghana—the first three NPAPs to be established globally—learned by their experiences as the ‘cradles’ of the NPAP approach and their shared perspectives on moving from the ‘build phase’ towards the ‘sustain phase’.
