Brief Innovation

At the request of the Vietnam Government, the SWITCH-Asia programme, through its SCP Facility, 1. Assist with the development of a new SCP National Action Plan on SCP (2021–2030) based on the results of assessment and integrated approach of different stakeholders, as well as drawing lessons from implementation of the current SCP Action Plan; and 2. Assist in supporting short-term priority project activities in 2020-2021 by further developing a Seafood SCP Guide and building capacity for Seafood retailers/supermarkets in Vietnam. Part 1on NAP SCP has been completed, with the NAP SCP approved and launched by the Prime Minister on 24 June 2020. with the following main objective: General objectives: To promote efficient and sustainable management, exploitation and utilization of natural resources, fuel, materials; incentivize development of eco-friendly resources, fuel, materials, products which are renewable, reusable and recyclable; promote sustainable consumption and production on the basis of innovation, creativity, practice and development of sustainable consumption and production models; and promote sustainable consumption and production of domestic products, create stable and green jobs, enhance sustainable lifestyle and improve quality of people’s life towards a circular economy in Vietnam; part 2 on Seafood is being implemented, expected to develop practical guidelines for concerned SMEs
