Brief Innovation

The Alliance is a network of organizations and citizens who share a strategy for applying zero waste practices to better manage solid waste, reduce plastics, save natural resources, and protect the environment of Vietnam. Zero waste approaches, known as the “R’s,” include Refusing (to use non-essential items); Redesigning (business models, goods, and packaging); Reducing (waste); Reusing; Rotting (i.e., composting); Recycling; Recovering; and Residuals management. By building a strong national alliance, raising our members’ awareness, and piloting waste reduction models at community scales, we will elevate zero waste to become broadly accepted by Vietnamese society as the correct approach to waste management and as an admirable lifestyle.
